Lithuanian Language Course

57 students arriving from 22 countries, including Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belarus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Spain, USA, Croatia, Latvia, Poland, Mongolia, New Zealand, South Korea, France, Finland, Sweden, Ukraine, and Germany, have joined the Lithuanian language winter course held from 8 January to 2 February 2018.


The course participants have been divided up into five groups with regard to their language proficiency and have four to six academic hours of Lithuanian language classes daily. They also attend lectures in the afternoon on Lithuanian culture, including those of Lithuanian language, history, social & political life, everyday-life culture, old Lithuanian culture, and nature. Students go on guided tours round Vilnius University, Old Town of Vilnius, Palace of the Grand Dukes, Museum of Genocide Victims, and National Museum of Lithuania. They also have a get-together where they sample Lithuanian dishes and learn Lithuanian folk songs and dances. On Saturdays, students take guided tours by coach to Trakai, Kaunas, and Anykščiai.
